Our team & leadership
Matriz was founded as a way to bring together long-time collaborators committed to gender equality, inclusion, and systems change. Many of us have worked closely over the years—across regions, institutions, and movements—building trust and deepening our practice through shared experience.
Today, Matriz is a collective platform rooted in those relationships. We draw on our lived experience, cultural insight, and technical expertise to co-create inclusive approaches that are grounded, responsive, and transformative.

Our network includes:
-
Practitioners of gender and youth mainstreaming
-
Experts in leadership development and organizational transformation
-
Designers of inclusive learning systems and facilitation methods
-
Advisors in governance, public sector change, and policy reform
-
Specialists in participatory evaluation, applied research, and knowledge translation
We don’t offer cookie-cutter solutions. We co-design, adapt, and stay responsive to the people, systems, and power dynamics in each context.

The strength of Matriz is in our people—experienced co-creators who’ve led, facilitated, and supported globally significant efforts in the places they know best.
We are not only international—we are deeply grounded in the Global South. Many of our team members come from or are based in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, and bring years of working both inside institutions and alongside communities.
We’ve worked on:

-
Political transitions, constitutional processes, and national policy reform
-
Feminist economic strategies and care systems design
-
Regional learning platforms for gender and youth empowerment
-
Community-driven safety and advocacy efforts in urban and post-conflict settings
-
Multilingual, cross-cultural learning environments and strategy dialogues
We don’t “parachute in.” We partner deeply, adapt intelligently, and leave behind structures that last.
